I haven't shared any WIPs before this, so hopefully this one shall be well received. It's going very well, except for the fact that it tries my patience!
PAINTED COWL
I don't know where the red wool in this project came from, but the painted ball has some history. I got it quite some time ago at a LYS in a grab bag, no yardage, no label. It has been sitting in my stash, waiting for some unknown project. It's absolutely lovely. It's many smaller stranded plied together, and then bound by two strands of black in opposite directions. I wish I knew what it was, because, even though it's not the softest, it's high interest when placed in a fabric.
I felt I didn't have enough of it to make a whole project, so held it double with the red wool while I worked on the Easy Chunky Cowl, or as I'm calling it, my painted cowl. The pattern is very easy, but my needle cord is a little small for the diameter of the cowl, so I really have to work to move the stitches around. Boo on me, the pattern calls for super bulky, and I held two strands of worsted together. Hence, my cowl is very small compared to the samples, and I am glad the thing is meant for someone younger.
The eight inches of stockinette in the round is a bit of a bear. Monotonous! However, the results are very nice, so maybe it's worth it!
Easy Chunky Cowl, #10 needle, unkown yardage, unknown red wool, unknown painted yarn.
